Watford came from behind to condemn Town to their seventh successive defeat as the Hornets left Portman Road with a 2-1 win. Keith Andrews saw the Blues into a half-time lead but a penalty from Marvin Sordell and a second from Troy Deeney soon after sealed the victory for the visitors.

Key central defender Ibrahima Sonko is set to return to the Town team as the Blues look to end their run of six successive defeats and also a winless streak of 13 games against bogey side Watford at Portman Road on Saturday. Daryl Murphy opened the scoring 11 minutes after the break, Kaspars Gorkss equalised for the Royals before Josh Carson’s deflected shot put the Blues back in front. Town looked to have won it but Alex Pearce and Noel Hunt netted at the death to see the Blues to their third successive 3-2 defeat.

Town fell to their second 3-2 defeat in two games as Nottingham Forest netted twice in the last six minutes to come from behind to deny the Blues their first win at the City Ground for 12 years. Danny Collins scored two goals in a game for the first time in his professional career, putting the Blues in front twice, but Robbie Findley equalised for the home side before the break, then Joel Lynch and Marcus Tudgay netted another leveller and the winner in injury time.

Ibrahima Sonko is currently sidelined with a hamstring tear, while Damien Delaney recently underwent surgery on a stress fracture to his foot and Ívar Ingimarsson missed much of August and September with a thigh problem.
